Dr. Christopher Hightower is the Interim Director of Institutional Effectiveness at Texas Christian University. He also teaches assessment, accreditation and higher education public policy in the Higher Education Leadership program in the College of Education at TCU. Dr. Hightower trains and manages faculty across campus in assessment strategies. He also assists with specialized accreditation and program reviews. Dr. Hightower serves as the TCU’s liaison to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. In that capacity, he prepares the university accreditation reaffirmation and interim reports. In 2013, TCU launched a campus-wide effort to work towards comprehensive internationalization. Christopher aided in the development of the assessment plan and currently supervises the assessment activities for the campus-wide program titled Discovering Global Citizenship. It received the 2015 IIE Heiskell Award for Internationalizing the Campus and the 2017 Senator Paul Simon Spotlight Award. In 2017, he published a case study of the internationalization assessment efforts in a book, Intercultural Competence in Higher Education: International Approaches, Assessment and Application. Dr. Hightower regularly presents workshops on assessment, assessment planning and assessing intercultural competence.
